    Hello Wayne,
6 months ago, I started a bluegrass radio show on a very small community radio station in Churchton, MD WRYR LP 97.5 FM. I’m having a blast doing it. I have a day job, so I’m only on Tuesday afternoons from 4 to 5:30 pm. The station also streams at http://www.wryr.org and my show is rebroadcast on Saturday nights at 10:00 pm.

I try to focus on local bluegrass bands when ever I can by playing their cd’s and inviting them in the studio for interviews. It’s my way of giving back to the bluegrass community. I would welcome any advice you can offer to a newbie in this.

    Regards,
    Roger

    Roger,
Thanks for visiting my website and good luck with your radio show. It sounds like you’re having fun which is the most important thing. Your listeners will pick up on that. I also try to give my show a local feel by having regional bands perform live on the air, talking up their appearances in the area, etc. That makes the show unique from internet broadcasters, satellite, etc. Knowing a little bit about your part of the country, I’m sure you have a large potential audience of bluegrass fans there.
    All the best,
    Wayne
